Having adults not understanding how science, or even science education, works means that the educational system actually starts to work against promoting science interest and literacy.

Also, decided I’m actually gonna use this as an actual, ya know, blog. No longer exclusively reblogs of other people’s things. Mostly that. But no 100% of the time now :-D

This is actually really funny if you think about it. I mean, there was totally some sort of ghost or demon about to kill her but then that sheet blew straight into its face and it was so embarrassed that it decided to disappear.

Tremble, mortal, for I am Zerendikos, and I will drag your howling soul to—
*flump*
AH SHIT WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS IT’S ALL OVER MY FACE
FUCK
WHAT IS THAT SMELL
IS THAT FUCKING FEBREEZE
FUCK DAMMIT SHIT FORGET THIS I’M OUT

I like to think the ghost was about to ask her on a date.
"Okay, Zerendikos…just walk up to her and tell her you like her. Just be yourself…."
"Hi, I-"
*flump*
"AH…NEVERMIND! I GOTTA GO! I LIKE YOUR HAIR!"

Here’s the story.

I don’t like how we commend one horrible act just because it is a reaction to another act that we have deemed bad. Sure, maybe this kid was too close to the train track and was endangering himself and others. But kicking him in the head is not the correct action to take. It’s not even in the vicinity of the correct action to take. And it could have resulted in a tragic accident if the kid fell into the moving train.

There’s another GIF going around of a guy who was in a car accident with another driver who was texting and he gets out of his car, aggressively takes their phone, and smashes it on the ground. And all the comments on this GIF applaud the man. I hate this GIF. The man’s anger is valid. The texting driver endangered the lives of everyone involved. But aggressively destroying that person’s property is also a dangerous act, not to mention criminal. He didn’t know for sure if that person had a gun or not. That act of anger could have resulted in his death.

Acts of violence should not be applauded.

I agree with Nate here. The violence takes another step in the wrong direction. It comes down to the old adage “2 wrongs don’t make a right.” Judging from the location of the hit, the kid could have gotten some pretty serious jaw damage or broken teeth, which would have been entirely the worker’s fault. Yes the kid was in a relatively unsafe position being so close to the train, but he was still not in immediate danger. The worker changed the situation purposefully to make sure the kid would be hurt, even if only just to scare him. That doesn’t seem right to me. Chastise him all you want after the fact, but you don’t have the right to physically harm someone because they were stupid enough to almost harm themselves.
